====== THE BRASS DUKE ====== The greatest game of fetch ever played is usually considered by scholars to have been between Lucky and their Partner THE BRASS DUKE, in AK 197, although some maintain that their game in AK 192 better exemplifies the traditional aesthetics of Fetching. The fact that this was the first (and to this day only) game in which the Fetcher broke the sound barrier is usually cited as the justification for this unique distinction, but there are several other important factors one ought to consider. This was also the first time that a Thrower’s Ball had managed to cross the Kármán Line (the conventional definition of the beginning of “Outer Space”), and the fact that Lucky was able to catch up to the Ball just three meters before it landed. Perhaps most important, however, was the unique bond shared between Fetcher and Thrower. While someday their technical feats will likely be exceeded, the joy Lucky and THE BRASS DUKE took in fetch may well never be equaled. - From //Fetch//, Vol. DXVI. {{tag> npc_eternity}}
